What vehicles have stopped using visible shift lock release mechanisms or visible mechanism covers?

We created a saved workspace looking at which vehicles have deleted a visible cover for their shift lock release:
The Images Cart tab is the most relevant since it shows any shifter areas that DO NOT have a shift lock release cover.
Note: We found shifters that no longer have a shift lock release cover from the following makes:
- Acura
- Audi
- BMW
- Buick
- Cadillac
- Chevrolet
- Chrysler
- Dodge
- Fiat
- Ford
- GMC
- Honda
- Jaguar
- Jeep
- Land Rover
- Lexus
- Maserati
- Mercedes-Benz
- Mini
- Nissan
- Porsche
- Ram
- Smart
- Subaru
- Toyota
- Volkswagen
- Volvo
We also created an Excel workbook showing the shifter area of any vehicle we encountered that has deleted a visible shift lock release cover.

Overall, it seems like this has been a very prevalent change across the market.
